One of the most awaited ICC tournament is set to happens from 4th of June 2024 and ending on 30th. ICC has decided that the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted by United States and West Indies. It will be the 9th edition of this World Cup. International Cricket Committee will organize this excited event. Barbados (West Endies) is expected to host the Grand Finale.
For the very first time, USA will be hosting this event. This step is taken to promote cricket in the western world. Also the tournament consists of 20 teams from all over the world. Few affiliate teams will be also being in action for the tittle as well. Guinea, New Guinea, Oman and Nepal are playing for the first time in T20 World Cup. Two teams have yet to qualify to be in the event.
The Arch Rivals India vs Pakistan are in the same group so it will be going to be the biggest match if this tournament. New York will see this thrilling match on 9 June. Both teams will fight for the 2nd tittle of this wonderful event. Last time they meet against each other was in MCG Australia. India have won it on the last ball of the game.
Format of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024:
- 20 teams are competing with each other for the first time:
- Teams will be divided into 4 groups; each group consist of 5 teams.
- Top 2 teams of each group will qualifies for the super 8 round.
- Top 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 4 each.
- Top 2 teams of each group heads towards semifinals.
- Winning teams will play for the World Cup title.
