The T20 series between India and Afghanistan will start from 11 January in Bindra Stadium at Mohali.

As the schedule second t20 will played on 14 January. And the final match of the series hosted by M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Benguluru on January 17.

As the home series in front BCCI announced their 16-man squad. Rohit Sharma playing as the captain of the team. Along with Rohit India’s top player Virat Kohli is also the part of playing eleven for the all three matches. They both are ruled out from the team since India’s defeat to England in the semifinal of the ICC T20 world cup 2022 at the Adelaide oval. Meanwhile the several leading players like Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah has not in the team. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya due to their injuries out of the contest.

On the other hand, team Afghanistan led by Ibrahim Zardran. Because of regular Afghanistan t20 captain, Rashid Khan, has been included in 19-man squad. He is doubtful to play in the series as he is not fully recover from his back surgery. After this series Afghanistan has 9 more matches to go ahead the world cup campaign. On the other hand, India playing their last series before the world cup.

Rashid Khans injury:

Rashid Khan is not the part of playing team against India. As he is not fully recovered from his lower back surgery. That also forced him to out of BBL and SA20. Team management conforms he travels with the team to Chandigarh but is not yet match fit.

The current captain Ibrahim said, he is fully fit. We hope that he gets fit as soon as we expect him to. He is going to rehab with the doctor, and we will really miss him in the series. We will struggle without Rashid but not that much because his experience is very important for us. This is cricket you have to ready for any kind of situation.
